Book Review: The Monster of Fame

The Monster of Fame (The Price of Fame, #1)The Monster of Fame by Aimée Duffy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My first encounter with one of Aimee’s stories was with Isle of Sensuality, which I absolutely loved. Monster of Fame was equally a great read, with characters you can empathise with and vivid settings. The story centres around a talent show, similar to the likes of ‘X Factor’. Funnily enough I’m not a fan of these TV shows but Aimee’s novel follows the lives of one contestant and one of the judges, their backgrounds and their end goals and how these issues conflict with their journey during the contest and ultimately, their relationship. I know when a story has got inside my head, when I find myself wondering how the characters are getting on and picture them as though I’m catching up on a television series. Monster of Fame is the first in The Price Of Fame series and is a lovely heart-warming (not to mention steamy) story and I’m already looking forward to the next in the series, Never Say Never.
