Motherhood - made up by me

Anyone who knows me well knows the ups and downs I’ve had with breastfeeding. I decided whilst pregnant that I would try breastfeeding as that’s what I wanted to do.

When Ava was first born we spent the first 3 days of her life in hospital. It was me that was poorly not her. I was bed bound so was unable to get up and attend to her, either my husband or family had to change her bum or change her outfit and pass her to me to be able to feed her. I’m not going to lie, I had no clue what I was doing but continued to do it despite very limited support on the ward whilst in hospital. I look back and wonder how I did it.

I don’t judge anyone on how they feed their child, but I remember thinking about it when in the bay…
