Guest Blog Post over on Lacey Dearie’s Tangled Web

Morning readers and fellow writers. It’s been a hard slog recently with our new Springer Spaniel pup, Charlie, but I’ve actually managed to sneak an hour to myself in order to get some admin/blogging done, and boy do I feel better for it! I start to feel trapped if I’m not in control of my own destiny and I hate nothing more than feeling restrained.

Today I’m guest blogging over on the site of Lacey Dearie, Scottish Indie author of Baked! and The Tangled Web. Lacey is one of many Indie author’s I’ve met during my time on social networking after leaving the security of a full time job in favour of a better work/life balance, and she is very hardworking and inspiring.

Please feel free to come over and say Hi!

Book Review: The Tangled Web by Lacey Dearie

The Tangled WebThe Tangled Web by Lacey Dearie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As her first novel, Scottish Indie Author Lacey Dearie has created an entertaining read with The Tangled Web. With laugh-out-loud sections and a colourful spectrum of characters, I enjoyed this book which is a fun story, interwoven with several sub-plots. The book is cleverly constructed to include blogs, subsequent comments and email interactions, which are intertwined within the main body of the book. For me, as a reader who gets bored with too much detail, Lacey describes her scenes well, imparting just enough information to allow you to fill in the blanks and see the setting within your mind’s eye.
I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys chick-lit with humour and characters whose mistakes and choices mirror those we sometimes make in real life.
